We are excited to announce that the Children and Young People Self Advocacy (CYPSA) Annual Report is now live, collecting together the achievements of the group over the past 12 months.
CYPSA is a Youth Voice Forum for young people aged 0-25 years of age with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND) across the entire South West region. The group meets monthly to help the voices of young people with SEND be heard. They meet monthly and discuss a wide range of topics and have attended a range of events to share their views and opinions for children and young people across the region, their parents and carers.
The initial, primary focus of the group was to work with health systems across the region. Over the last year the group have successfully gained further funding from the South West Regional Improvement and Innovation Alliance (RIIA) which allows the group to also look more widely at the education provision for children and young people with SEND.
The work of the group this year has seen membership of the group increase, the attendance of a SEND regional conference, the project’s manager Sian being recognised on a national level as well as completing the National SEND Leadership Training, involvement in a research project with Warwick Business School, work on the transition from childhood to adulthood and language around disability.
This year has been an outstanding one for the group, you can read about all of the achievements mentioned above – and more – by clicking on this link.
